Wilson Creek to Klamath River Overlook
Some of the most beautiful views on the Pacific Coast are to be had on Northern California trails, where the Redwood trees meet the Pacific Ocean.

Wilson Creek to Lagoon Creek
Half mile
Easy beach walk
Wilson Creek Beach parking lot is on the west side of Highway 101 about five and a half miles north of Klamath. The first section of the hike was a short jaunt along the beach with tide pools and loads of driftwood. Check the time for high tides.
Lagoon Creek to Hidden Beach
One mile
Easy
Parts of the trail are covered with bush and trees that form tunnels. It’s an easy walk with fantastic views. The colors of the cliffs in the distance are incredible – greens, blues, rusts and purples. Looks like something out of Jurassic Park. The sound of the surf from the ocean below is ever present, as this trail hugs the coast.
Hidden Beach to Klamath River Overlook
Three miles
Moderate
There are some steep grades along this stretch of the trail with more amazing views. The hike culminates in the breath taking vista from the Klamath River Overlook, where the Klamath River empties into the Pacific Ocean.
Gorgeous, isn’t it. Now it’s time for the return trip!
